Russell and Cynthia Gordon are husband and wife artists who met while studying at the Schuler School of Fine Arts in Baltimore, MD. They established their own studio together in upstate New York in 1994 and have been producing beautiful works of art ever since. With subjects ranging from tabletop still lifes to florals, nudes to naturalistic studies, Russell Gordon's works evoke an old world feel but often with a decidedly contemporary twist. These richly detailed and carefully composed paintings reflect Dutch Golden Era and Italian Renaissance sensibilities, yet remind us that simple and natural beauty are timeless and unchanged.

Cynthia Gordon
Primarily a landscape painter Cynthia Gordon also brings a uniquely contemporary sense to her works. Influenced by the great Hudson River School of American painting, she imbues her otherwise down-to-earth landscapes with a sense of openness and spirituality. Her work is inspired by the beauty of the land surrounding the Gordon's studio, nestled on a gentle slope of the northern Hudson Valley and overlooking the Green Mountains of Vermont to the east. Farmland, fields and forests offer an endless bounty of subject matters for Cynthia's paintings as the seasons cycle over the mountains and valleys.
